Banjara Vintage Embroidery 4 – India

Description
This stunning Banjara embroidery is from Rajasthan, India. Some of the patterns appear to be woven brocade and others embroidered creating an exciting fusion of techniques, colors and designs. There is also some applique around the central square and out edges with cowry shells embellishments along the edges. This mostly red, blue and gold piece in cotton and measures 16.5″ x 16.5″ plus the shells. It makes an interesting tabletop decoration or hang it on the wall. Similar items are selling for $200 or more on Ebay, so start the bidding!
