This versatile never used striped yardage was made by the Hanung Jonnom family business of the Adi tribe in the eastern Himalayas of India. In India they are used as sarongs but you can be creative with this pretty fabric. It is cotton with mostly olive agree with orange stripes with a beautiful geometric accent stripe and measures 64″ long and 41″ wide.

Hanung’s family make the traditional baskets and clothing of this region and ethnic group of India, in Arunachal Pradesh. His father makes baskets of rattan and bamboo, and his mother the cotton textiles and clothing, lotus silk scarves and fabric. Hanung, or by his nickname, Ntony, studied engineering but made a conscientious decision to return to his small village instead of a life in Delhi, to follow his passion of raising awareness of the cultural art traditions of Aunchal Pradesh and keep them alive.
