Handwoven Neutral Band – Peru

NFS

Description

This beautiful yet simple piece was purchased in the mid 1980’s in Peru. It was probably meant to be belting but is shorter than usual. The middle stripe is different on each side if you look closely when reversed. It’s a fairly simple neutral piece, in an off white/light grey background with birds and patterns in burgundy, blue, black and green. It would work as a narrow tablerunner as well, or a wall hanging. The piece is quite stiff. It is wool, measures 3.5″ wdie 34″ long, with braids at one end.
