Description
This is a gorgeous vintage Banjara spice bag with four pockets for different cooking spices. Given to a bride to carry her spices to her new home, spice bags could be hung from carts for traveling. It is embroidered with stunning patterns on burlap and is embellished with cowry shells. The bag unfolds flat, and a center string brings the four pouches together. This measures 16″ x 16″ overall when flat. Each individual pouch is about 5″ x 6″. This bag has been lovingly used and is quite rare and treasured by collectors.
