Join sustainable textile consultant Amy DuFault of the Southeastern New England Fibershed, Carmen Gama, Director of Circular Design at EILEEN FISHER and Kristin Draper, 6th generation President of Draper Knitting Mill for an exciting conversation about farming, making and textile recycling. Each speaker comes to the table with unique takes on how clothing gets to us yet all three are intimately connected to the other. We’ll explore how these connections can lead to more sustainable solutions in the fashion and textile industry in 2024.

Amy DuFault is a sustainable fashion journalist who focuses on environmental and ethical conditions in manufacturing. Her work has appeared in publications local, national, and international for 15 years and her knowledge of the fashion industry is as vast as it is personal. In addition to her journalistic endeavors, Amy is the Communications Director at Botanical Colors, the leading natural dye supplier in the U.S, a consultant on regenerative textile systems for Fibersheds all over the world via the Waste Wool Working group, and runs her own Southeastern New England Fibershed.
Born and raised in Mexico and now based in New York, Carmen Gama serves as Director of Circular Design at EILEEN FISHER. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Gama brings a true passion for solution-based design and circular systems to her role. Gama works to reduce the environmental impact of fashion and to create business models that other brands can follow. She has been featured in numerous publications including Women’s Wear Daily, Business of Fashion, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, The New York Times, and Harper’s Bazaar.
Trained by her father and grandfather, Kristin Draper is the 6th generation to run Draper Knitting Company. In addition to all she learned growing up in the business, Kristin studied business and textiles at Fisher College, USC, and MIT. She came into the family business in 1988, starting in production and design, working her way up until she became President in 2009. In 2004 Kristin met up with the Celliant® team and helped develop the Draper Therapies line of consumer goods, a new field for the company. Always looking to stay on the leading edge of the industry, Kristin continues to be part of the Development, Sales, and Marketing teams at Draper.
