Artisans Beyond Borders (ABB) is a binational not-for-profit formed in 2019 to bring restorative trauma-informed arts and activities to asylum-seekers waiting in shelters and on the streets in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. ABB continues to lift up and preserve cultural arts and the dignity of work for families stranded at the border or now legally in the U.S., awaiting asylum adjudication. Donations and grants to www.ArtisansBeyondBorders.org Maker’s Fund keep this vital programming going and also support developing artisan enterprises. “Bordando Esperanza/Embroidering Hope,” a group exhibition of original hand-stitched prayer and memory, gives us the opportunity to see and feel what is true and sacred from the hands of the women and men living it. The exhibition also offers a way to truly welcome the artisans to new communities across the U.S. To inquire about and/or book the exhibition at your Gallery or Guild, University or House of Worship, email: Contact@ ArtisansBeyondBorders.org.
