Shipibo – Movie of Our Memories

My research and writing focus on the production, exchange & display of textiles in contemporary indigenous cultures & European medieval societies. With the Field Museum I worked for several years with Shipibo artists in Peru’s Amazon and part of the production team of the movie, Shipibo…Movie of our Memories. I teach Textile and Medieval Art History at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and am in charge of the Fiber Department’s Textile Resource Center.
