Warp-faced Double Weave on Inkle Looms

self or taproot

This manual is aimed at band weavers who have tried and found that they love to do pick-up work. The warp-faced double weave structure allows weavers to create clean, crisp designs on backgrounds of solid color. The structure does not use warp-floats which gives the patterns a completely smooth appearance without the spotted or speckled appearance of some of the other structures used by weavers in highland Bolivia. Dozens of step-by-step photos, detailed explanations and supplemental video clips take the reader through the process of warping and weaving a wide range of motifs. A tutorial on designing and charting your own original patterns is included.
