The Alice Brown Memorial Scholarship assists applicants ages 18-35 to attend WARP’s annual meeting. The 2024 meeting will be held May 15—18 in Golden, Colorado. WEAVE A REAL PEACE is dedicated to improving the quality of life of textile artisans worldwide. We are an inclusive global network of individuals and organizations who value all aspects of textiles. Our networking opportunities include an annual in-person meeting; quarterly newsletter; monthly Zoom panels; and online and social media tools.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate, through their past, present and/or intended activities, an interest in supporting global textiles and their makers. The Scholarship covers the cost of conference registration, accommodations and meals during the conference, travel reimbursement, and registration for Colorado Weaver’s Day on May 18th. WARP will provide travel reimbursement of up to $500 for domestic travel and up to $1000 for international travel. The conference includes speakers on topics related to WARP’s mission; an international marketplace; and networking opportunities for all attendees. At the conference, Scholarship recipients will give a 15-minute powerpoint presentation about their interests and accomplishments.
Applications are due MARCH 17th, 2024 at midnight US Eastern time. We ask that you complete the application form and upload a current Resume or CV below. We also require a recommendation from a professor or colleague who is familiar with your work and goals in relation to global textiles. Please make sure to share the link to this page with them so they can submit their recommendation by the application deadline.
