WARP members gathered in Oaxaca, Mexico in June 2017. Oaxacan weavers and dyers create textiles that stand out for their beauty, richness of style, and gorgeous color. Our time in Oaxaca was spent learning about and from these artisans, their families and communities, their history and culture, and the variety of techniques they use to dye yarns and weave cloth. We discussed WARP’s current work, and the organization’s future when the board presented the latest developments in our strategic plan.
WARP Members enjoyed two full days of presentations and discussions, plus terrific tours of some the best Mexican textile artists. The gathering was a culturally rich treat for everyone!
