Description
This lovely huipil from Santa Catarina Palopó in Guatemala has a vintage feel but we are unsure of the age. It is slightly faded in the black background but the brocade patterns are still vibrant turquoise, blues, greens, pinks and purples. The neck and armholes are embroidered in red. The piece is made up of 3 backstrap woven panels and the back is identical to the front. It makes a beautiful wall decoration or a showstopper garment. This huipil flat, measures 33″ across x 29″ in length. The neck hole is approximately 20″ in circumference, and armholes 12″ in circumference.
