Description
An exquisite, colorful vintage envelope pouch, used to keep dowry gifts during weddings. Likely from Sindh, Pakistan. Accented with chain and satin stitching, and black and green tassels at the bottom. The bag appears to be cotton or linen, as does the lining, which has a floral print. When closed, the bag measures about 6″ x 6″. As a rare vintage textile, this item does show signs of light wear but is much desired by collectors.
