Description
Made with hand dyed cotton loops and handmade sock loops with inspiration taken from the shades and hues of the earth on the hiking trails surrounding my Ojai, CA home. Nature is at the core of my weaving practice, with the tactile soils and sands reflected in the undulating textures of the piece, the well-trodden paths represented by the lines, bumps, and dips in the weaving. The work both invites you to examine it more closely and offers immediate visual impact, with the earthy tones stirring something familiar, safe, comforting. This pattern came to me while sheltering at home during the pandemic.
