Our 2026 Artisan Grant Fundraiser is live March 1-31 — and thanks to the Ellen Marrott Bequest Fund, the first $5,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar!
That means every gift you make right now will go twice as far.
WARP’s Artisan Grant Program supports textile artisans and their communities by offering small grants that preserve cultural heritage and foster economic independence. Since 2020, we have awarded more than 80 grants in over 30 countries, distributing approximately $20,000 annually in grants ranging from $500–$1,000.
These grants may be modest in size, but their impact is profound.
They fund raw materials like fiber and dye supplies. They provide tools and equipment such as looms and sewing machines. They support business and technical training. They help artisans build marketing platforms to reach new customers. Most importantly, they often lay the groundwork for long-term success for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
We prioritize projects that:
• Preserve artistic traditions and cultural heritage
• Benefit a broader community
• Support environmentally sustainable practices
• Promote economic independence and stability
Now, with $5,000 in matching funds available through March 31, your gift can help us reach even more artisans in 2026.
If you have ever admired the skill of a weaver, the resilience of a cooperative, or the power of cloth to carry culture, this is your moment to invest in that future.
Together, we can preserve traditions, strengthen communities, and weave a more just global textile economy.

“Your funding has enabled Lalaina to attend the Shoppe Object workshop in New York, a vital opportunity for us to showcase our unique handcrafts and expand our market reach. Moreover, your grant has significantly contributed to the development and conceptualization looms that are not only enhancing our productivity but also preserving our traditional weaving techniques, empowering our artisans to create high-quality silk and raffia products.”
-SEPALI Madagascar, 2024 Grantee and speaker at WARP’s February Panel

“[The WARP grant] was really instrumental in empowering more refugee women who are living in extreme poverty in our community. This also has increased production for our basket program now that we have more ladies in the basket weaving program. These skills will increase the sales made from the basket business and provide additional economic empowerment to the members of the Amani Sasa basket program.” -Amani Basket Cooperative, Uganda

With support from a 2025 WARP grant, Green Weaving (Bhutan) is investing in the essentials that sustain both craft and community — purchasing natural fibers, dyes, and mordants; repairing and building looms; and strengthening storytelling and promotion through new photography. The grant also supports advanced weaving techniques, eco-product development, and business training, helping artisans grow their work while staying rooted in traditional practices.
