WARP Members Only Program. Kathy McHenry grew up on the East Coast of the US, with strong Mid-West roots, nourished by color and design, but aware of the rules – for behavior, political expression and color harmony.
Our May panel discussion consists of individuals who have participated in textile tours over the past few years. They will share their experiences of the tours, reflect on the impact these journeys have had on their own lives, and discuss the ways in which they believe these tours have affected the artisans and communities involved.
Intercambio are a group of artists living in Oaxaca, Mexico, whose lives have been profoundly Influenced by the culture and in particular the concept of the Guelaguetza in which giving and receiving play a critical role of creating and maintaining community.

Margaret MacSems was instrumental in the development of the Khadi Oaxaca textile collective in the Sierra Sur de Miahuatlan. She is also co-founder of the native cotton collective Ñu’u Ndito and is currently guiding the development of their producer’s cooperative.
