WARP Members Only Program.Chad Troyer is a craftsperson working in textiles, specifically with weaving and dyeing. They are an MFA Candidate at the University of Kentucky. Chad was an Alice Brown Memorial Scholarship recipient in 2023, joining WARP that year. 

Continuing Textile Traditions: Weaving and Social Changes in Québec, Past and Present

Join us to hear the story of Oscar Bériau, Émélie Chamard, and the founding of Québec’s school of textile arts. Anne-Marie Poulin share more about Émélie and her contributions to the development of a particular weaving technique, to the first modern Leclerc loom and to the movement, Cercle de Fermières, an association celebrating its 110 years in 2025. Mary Underwood will discuss Bériau’s influence and the weaving program he directed, in addition to a bit of history of the Leclerc Loom Company.

WARP Members Only Program.Deb Brandon is a weaver, respected textile artist and enthusiast, and writer. She’s been an active member of WARP (Weave a Real Peace), including serving as a board member as well as writing the long-running “Textile Techniques from Around the World” column for the WARP newsletter.

WARP’s 2024 Annual Meeting was held in Golden, Colorado. We had an exciting lineup of speakers from the region’s textile community. Video recordings are available for those who were unable to attend in person.

WARP’s 2025 Annual Meeting

WARP’s 2025 Annual Meeting will take place June 4-8, 2025 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
