Sussan Hrozek is a forward-thinking innovator from Guatemala with a strong focus on technology, sustainable development, and women’s empowerment. Her decade of experience in marketing, combined with a solid academic background, equips her with a unique ability to bridge business, community development, and social impact, driving positive change in these interconnected fields. Sussan’s expertise extends beyond Guatemala, as she has partnered with organizations across Latin America, including Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Guatemala.

In 2023, Sussan became the Senior Coordinator of Handmade by Friendship Bridge, a role that reflects her dedication to empowering marginalized communities. She collaborates closely with artisans, primarily Indigenous women in rural Guatemala, where poverty and illiteracy remain prevalent.

At Handmade by Friendship Bridge, Sussan leads initiatives that empower artisans to transform their handmade products into sustainable sources of income, helping them break the cycle of poverty. The program focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills, empowering women to grow their businesses and create lasting, positive changes in their communities. By investing in the education of their children, these artisans are helping to foster progress across generations.

Friendship Bridge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise with a mission to create opportunities that empower Guatemalan women to build a better life provides a suite of products and services including microcredit, Non-Formal Education, and access to culturally appropriate healthcare. Clients are 100% women, primarily indigenous Maya, and live in rural communities with some of the highest poverty levels worldwide.
