MitiMeth is an award-winning Social Enterprise. We are a cause driven brand, transforming waste and creating alternate livelihoods for 150+ women and youth in Nigeria. Our vision is to create environmentally and economically thriving Maker communities and to become Nigeria’s #1 choice in natural fiber home décor and textiles. We are accomplishing this vision through the recovery and utilization of water hyacinth, agricultural residues and non-timber resources. We design and produce handmade interior décor such as home textiles, mirrors, rugs, runners, tapestries, lamps, dining-ware, planters, art, stationery, accent furniture and fashion accessories from water hyacinth fiber, banana fiber and coconut shells. In partnership with the private and public sector, MitiMeth has provided crafts training to over 700 women and youth from riverine and riparian communities in Nigeria and Ghana to date.
