Meet a Member: Fireside Chat with Liz Gipson
Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time
Join WARP for our July Fireside Chat with Liz Gipson! During our monthly Meet a Member program, we get to know a different WARP member each month.
Liz Gipson is a weaver, writer, and educator based in New Mexico. Her educational background is in community development and fiber arts. Liz spent most of her professional life in the magnificent world of publishing creating print, digital, and video content for weavers. While she has experimented with many weaving styles, her mission to “make more weavers” led her to her muse: the rigid-heddle loom. Ten years ago, she launched Yarnworker.com to support the growing community of weavers who enjoy this loom’s nature: accessible, portable, versatile, and affordable. Liz teaches at her local university, conducts in-person workshops around her state, and teaches online at Yarnworker U. She has written four books on rigid-heddle weaving and is working on her fifth.
A member of WARP since 1996, Liz currently serves on the board and as the editor of the WARP Quarterly. The organization’s commitment to global textile traditions, coupled with an unwavering vantage point that allows us to see the art and artisan as a whole keeps her own practice grounded and inspired.
